Loading of vitamin E to pHEMA-hydrogel contact lenses significantly increased the loading of a hydrophilic drug surrogate (Alexa Fluor 488 dye) and two hydrophilic glaucoma drugs (timolol and brimonidine ) to the lenses by 37.5%, 19.1%, and 18.7%, respectively.
