Possible Interaction: Oligosaccharides and Salicylic Acid

Research Papers that Mention the Interaction

Salicylate therefore inhibits the incorporation of glucosamine which occurs independently of protein synthesis, and thus appears to have a specific inhibitory effect on oligosaccharide assembly.

The expression levels of the defence‐related genes PR‐1a and LOX were both up‐regulated after MOS treatment, suggesting that MOS may simultaneously activate salicylic acid and jasmonic acid‐dependent signalling pathways.

Fucan oligosaccharides also induced the systemic accumulation of SA and the acidic PR protein PR-1, two markers of systemic acquired resistance (SAR).

Abstract In the estimation of glycosidase activity by dinitrosalicylic acid (DNS) reagent, the stoichiometry of DNS reduction was reported to increase proportionately with the increase in the number of glycosidic linkages present in oligosaccharides liberated by the enzyme.

We report here that the induction of proteinase inhibitor accumulation in tomato leaves by plant-derived oligogalacturonides and fungal-derived chitosan oligosaccharides is severely reduced by two inhibitors ( salicylic acid and diethyldi-thiocarbamic acid) of the octadecanoid pathway, supporting a role for the pathway in signaling by oligosaccharides.
