Research Papers that Mention the Interaction

Pretreatment of RES (50, 100, and 250 μM), OXY (50, 100, and 250 μM), and RES+OXY (50 and 100 μM) inhibited cytotoxicity and ROS production caused by nicotine in a dose-dependent manner.

Resveratrol and Ad-SIRT1 inhibited nicotine and LPS-mediated protein kinase C (PKC), phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K), p38, ERK, JNK, MAPK and nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB) activation.

However, when resveratrol (1×10(-8) μM or 1×10(-7) μM) was added concurrently to the embryos exposed to nicotine , all the parameters in above improved conspicuously.

In this study we have examined the inhibitory effects of resveratrol in nicotine induced proliferation of pancreatic cancer cells.
Mitogen activated protein kinase (MAPK) analysis revealed up-regulation of p-ERK expression by nicotine (p<0.05) that was suppressed significantly by resveratrol (p<0.05).
We conclude that resveratrol acts as an effective antioxidant in reversing the nicotine induced pancreatic cancer cell proliferation.
