Possible Interaction: Interferon-Alpha and Ginseng

“Interestingly, in acute EAE rats, pretreatment with KRGE significantly reduced the population of CD4+, CD4+/IFN-γ+, and CD4+/IL-17+ T cells in the spinal cord and lymph nodes, corresponding to the downregulation of mRNA expression of IFN-γ , IL-17, and IL-23 in the spinal cord.”

“These findings suggest that Red Ginseng inhibits allergic reactions to food by preventing reductions in the ratio of IFN-γ to IL-4 and in IL-12 production induced by dietary antigens in spleen cells, and/or increasing the expression of CD8 and IFN-γ in the small intestine.”
