Research Papers that Mention the Interaction

Interestingly, the interaction of an octapeptide-spanning peptide motif amino acids 53–93 with heparin is enhanced by Cu(II) ions.
The Journal of Biological Chemistry  •  2002  |  View Paper
A free radical reaction generated by a mixture of Cu2+ , hydrogen peroxide, and ascorbate causes an abrupt reduction in the anti Xa activity of heparin by about one-half, and in molecular weight by about one-third.
Overall, the results are more consistent with a high degree of regioselectivity in the interaction between heparin and Cu2+ ion , than with a delocalized counter-ion interaction.
Carbohydrate research  •  1994  |  View Paper
The metal ions Cu2+ , Zn2+, Fe2+ and Fe3+ inhibited heparin binding, with half-maximal inhibition of binding to lactoferrin occurring between 600 microM and 1 mM and for lysozyme between 500 and 800 microM. 3.
