When administered intraperitoneally, morphine, hydromorphone, ethylmorphine, l-alpha-acetylmethadol (LAAM), and meperidine all caused a significant decrease in hepatic GSH concentrations in male mice while codeine, methadone, butorphanol, nalbuphine, and pentazocine were without effect even at doses up to those approaching acute lethality.
