Possible Interaction: Folic Acid and Uridine Triacetate

Research Papers that Mention the Interaction

Folic acid can reduce tau phosphorylation by regulating PP2A methylation in diabetic mice.
Folic acid reduced tau hyperphosphorylation at Ser396 in the brain of diabetes mellitus (DM) mice.

The obtained results showed that folic acid could interact with Tau through a spontaneous binding process, mainly by hydrophobic forces, and this interaction leads to a decline in protein-protein interactions through stabilizing its native state, limiting successful Tau-seed oligomerization and consequently decelerating polymerization of Tau amyloid aggregates.
We investigated the interaction between folic acid and Tau protein, then experimental and theoretical evidence were provided for the suppressing effects of folic acid on Tau fibril formation.
