Possible Interaction: Ergotamine and Yohimbine

supplement:

Ergotamine

supplement:

Yohimbine

Research Papers that Mention the Interaction

So far, it is known that ergotamine interacts with diverse receptors (including α1/2-adrenoceptors, 5-HT1, 5-HT2 and D2-like receptors) and that produces increases in mean blood pressure which are significantly blocked by yohimbine , a classical α2-adrenoceptor antagonist with a moderate affinity for α1-adrenoceptors.

Relative sperm motility (motility of treated spermatozoa normalized to control … motility) was increased (p < 0.05) when co-incubations included ET … yohimbine (alpha 2-adrenergic receptor inhibitor); conversely, co-incubation of yohimbine (100 μM) and DHET decreased (p < 0.05) the percentage of motile spermatozoa when compared with controls.

The cumulative dose-response curve of ergotamine (1-100 micrograms/kg) vasoconstrictor effects was partially inhibited to the same extent by prazosin (1 mg/kg) and yohimbine (0.3 mg/kg).
Yohimbine (0.3 mg/kg) partially prevented the ergotamine cardiac and vascular inhibitory effects but sulpiride (0.3 mg/kg) only prevented it at vascular level.
