Vitamin D

Research Papers that Mention the Interaction

Pertussis toxin, 3‐[(2,4,6‐trimethoxyphenyl)methylidenyl]‐indolin‐2‐one and cyclosporine A also attenuated D3 receptor‐mediated inhibition of DA release indicating that this phenomenon acts through Gi/oα and casein kinase 1, and phosphatase protein phosphatase 2B (calcineurin), respectively.

Results: Children affected by VKC had lower vitamin D levels compared to healthy controls and we found an increase in vitamin D levels after therapy with cyclosporine eye drops 1% although this increase was lower than that of healthy controls.

Cyclosporin A blocked the induction of both cyclin D2 and D3.

A consistent synergism was observed between all concentrations of CsA used and vitamin D3 (10(-8) and 10(-7) M).
This study shows that the potentiation of immunosuppressive effects of CsA by vitamin D3 could be used as an approach to reduce the dosage of CsA in clinical use without compromising immunosuppression, thus preventing or minimizing the dose-related toxic effects of CsA.

CsA inhibited parathyroid hormone (PTH), prostaglandin E2, 1,25‐dihydroxy vitamin D3 (1,25(OH)2D3), and osteoclast‐activating factor induced resorption of fetal rat limb bones in a dose‐dependent manner.
