Research Papers that Mention the Interaction

Synergistic influence of vitamin E and C , and vitamin E and selenium on N-Nitrosamine synthesis.
International journal for vitamin and nutrition research. Internationale Zeitschrift fur Vitamin- und Ernahrungsforschung. Journal international de vitaminologie et de nutrition  •  1989  |  View Paper
Addition of the coantioxidants, vitamin E or butylated hydroxytoluene to the emulsion formulation, significantly enhanced the photolability of the catechin , the EGCG loss reached 85.7±1.3% and 80.5±1.4%, respectively.
Journal of pharmaceutical and biomedical analysis  •  2011  |  View Paper
Both green tea as well as catechins (EGCG in particular) have been also revealed to prevent decrease in concentration of alpha-tocopherol in oxidating conditions.
Advances in medical sciences  •  2006  |  View Paper
The order of effectiveness for AT protection was ECG > EGCG > EC = C > EGC; and for BC protection, the order was EGCG > ECG > EGC > > EC > C. The addition of catechins modified the kinetics of TBARS formation and AT depletion, but the rate of AA depletion was not affected.
These results indicate that catechins are effective antioxidants in human blood plasma, delaying the lipid oxidation and depletion of endogenous lipid-soluble antioxidants ( AT and BC).
Proceedings of the Society for Experimental Biology and Medicine. Society for Experimental Biology and Medicine  •  2000  |  View Paper
Synergistic effects were present in the combinations of alpha-tocopherol plus caffeic acid, catechin , or epicatechin as well as in all combinations of vitamin C plus phenolic antioxidants.
Journal of agricultural and food chemistry  •  2000  |  View Paper
The addition of CTCH prevented or delayed the formation of TBARS, and the depletion of AT and BC in a dose dependent manner.
These results indicate that CTCH was an effective antioxidant in human blood plasma, delaying the consumption of endogenous lipid soluble antioxidants ( AT and BC) and inhibiting lipid oxidation.
Free radical biology & medicine  •  1998  |  View Paper
C showed a synergistic effect with alpha-tocopherol in protecting against LOOH-induced damage.
Chemico-biological interactions  •  1998  |  View Paper
Results suggest that cianidanol in vivo inhibits lipid peroxidation and influences antioxidant enzyme systems and vitamin E in the blood of patients with chronic hepatitis.

High-dose vitamin E with C was less effective at reducing oxidative stress than vitamin C alone or the low vitamin E+C diet combination.

The rest of the groups were fed on 4% of the same oils … C. The results of the flaxseed oil rat group indicate that supplementing vitamin E … C led to a significant reduction in the mean values of total … cholesterol (LDL-C), and liver alanine amino transferase enzyme (ALT).
