Possible Interaction: Carbachol and Quinidine

supplement:

Quinidine

Research Papers that Mention the Interaction

Quinidine but not sotalol or metoprolol prolonged the action potential duration and abolished arrhythmic activity induced by carbachol.
Journal of the American Heart Association  •  2018  |  View Paper
In some preparations, quinidine at concentrations of 5 μmol/l and higher slowed the spontaneous activity by its direct membrane action even in the presence of carbachol.
In the presence of 0.1 μmol/l carbachol , the spontaneous activity of the atrioventricular nodal preparations was markedly inhibited, whereas subsequent addition of 1, 5 and 20 μmol/l quinidine restored automaticity in a concentration-dependent manner.
Naunyn-Schmiedeberg's Archives of Pharmacology  •  2004  |  View Paper
Quinidine was found to inhibit catecholamine release from the medulla of perfused adrenal glands induced by carbamylcholine.
