Possible Interaction: Capsaicin and Aspartate

supplement:

Capsaicin

Research Papers that Mention the Interaction

At the time of injection of capsaicin , there is an increase in release of aspartate (191+/-21%) and glutamate (194+/-14%).
KT5823, H89, or artificial cerebrospinal fluid (ACSF; control) were administered after injection of capsaicin to reduce the increased release of aspartate and glutamate.

Capsaicin (1 microM) stimulated the release of aspartate and glutamate, as reported for substance P, in control slices but this effect was not as apparent in tissues from capsaicin-treated rats.
In capsaicin-treated rats, the evoked release of aspartate , glutamate and substance P but not GABA, were significantly lower.

An almost equal increase in serotonin and a less pronounced, but still significant, increase in aspartate accompanied contralateral capsaicin injection.
Extracellular concentrations of aspartate , glutamate and serotonin increased significantly following capsaicin injection into the ipsilateral limb.
